At South Side Arts we offer a state of the art studio with 6 pottery wheels. We offer a variety of batts to help your throwing, including the euclid batt system that incorporates removable tiles, making it so much easier to get your work off the wheel intact.
Our members have exclusive access to our clay, coloured slips and tools for decorating, carving, sculpting and forming. We have a large slab roller to make rolling flat clay a breeze.
Each member is assigned a shelf to store their tools, clay, works in progress with additional shelf space available to rent as needed. Our members have access to over 35 studio dip glazes which, when combined offer an almost unlimited number of options.
Our members enjoy 24/7 access to the studio, with 15 minute grace period so you can check your work every day without losing time. When you are a member here, we don't charge you time to clean up, so your membership time is just for while you are working.
No minimum or maximum visits. Come and stay as long as you need, even if it is just 20 minutes or 6 hours, the flexibility is yours!
We host a monthly, members-only workshop where we share ideas and techniques and then one of our teachers will hold a workshop to help you build skills!
If you aren't a member, we offer open studio times. Sign up for a 2 hour visit and come in and use the space and our equipment! Storage space is limited so make sure to finish your work within 2 weeks. Your clay purchase includes kiln firing and studio glazes.
